Tournament organizers suspended Round 2 play at the Masters due to bad weather. It was so bad that several trees fell near spectators at Augusta. However, according to bookie PPH sources, no one was harmed or injured.
Footage showed spectators running as a tall tree fell near the 17th tee. As a result, organizers suspended play for the second time. Again, workers had to use chainsaws to remove the fallen trees. Thus, play resumed the following day, with Tiger Woods’ chances of making the cut remained unclear.
According to golf and basketball news reports, the wind blown over the trees. As a result, play stopped and resumed Saturday morning. However, that was not the first time organizers suspended play. They suspended play for twenty-one minutes from 3:07 PM ET. Thus, several players failed to finish.
Round 2 Play at The Masters
John Rahm was currently in second place when organizers suspended play. He had nine holes to play on Day 2. Also, he was three shots behind the leader Brooks Koepka, who is on top at 12-under-par.
Before the rain delay, Woods had played 11 holes in his second round. On Saturday, he teed off at two strokes over par, which was the expected cut line, according to The Masters website. The five-time Masters winner has made the cut in all but two of his past 24 major tournament outings.
According to pay per head blog, Sam Bennett, an amateur, fired another four-under 68. In addition, he was four strokes behind four-time major champion Brooks Koepka.
